  18. This file provides information for Shareware Distributors, Disk Vendors and
  19. Computer Clubs who wish to distribute the SkyMap v1.3 package.

  30.                          Distribution Requirements
  31. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

  33. Individuals who wish to distribute the SkyMap package to friends or
  34. associates may do so provided the complete, unmodified SkyMap package
  35. is distributed.
  36.  
  37. Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add the SkyMap package to
  38. their disk library may do so in accordance with the Distribution
  39. Restrictions listed below.
  40.  
  41.    If you would like your Computer Club or User Group to be placed on our
  42.    mailing list for future upgrades to any of our products, please contact
  43.    us for complete details.  Our address, phone number, and CompuServe User
  44.    ID number are listed at the end of this file.

  46. Limited Distribution License:

  49. As the exclusive copyright holder for SkyMap, Chris Marriott
  50. authorizes distribution only in accordance with the following restrictions.
  51.  
  52. ASP Approved Vendors in good standing are hereby given permission to
  53. distribute the SkyMap package.  Non-ASP member vendors must request
  54. permission prior to distributing this package.
  55.  
  56. The SkyMap package is defined as containing all the material listed
  57. in the PACKING.LST text file.  If any files listed in the PACKING.LST text
  58. file, or the PACKING.LST file itself, are missing, then the package is not
  59. complete and distribution is forbidden.  Please contact us to obtain a
  60. complete package suitable for distribution.
  61.  
  62. The SkyMap package - including all related program files and
  63. documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any way and must be distributed
  64. as a complete package, without exception.  The PACKING.LST text file
  65. contains a list of all files that are part of the SkyMap package.
  66.  
  67.    Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or installation
  68.    batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are acceptable.
  69.  
  70. No price or other compensation may be charged for the SkyMap
  71. package.  A distribution fee may be charged for the cost of the diskette,
  72. shipping and handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed
  73. US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$12.00 internationally.

  76. Disk Sets & CD-ROMs:

  78. Vendors who wish to distribute the SkyMap package as a part of a
  79. collection, whether disk or CD-ROM based, may do so provided the complete
  80. package is included in the collection. The text file PACKING.LST contains
  81. a list of all files that are part of the SkyMap package.

  83. If you wish to add SkyMap to a CD-ROM or other collection, please check the
  84. release date of the version you have.  If the version is over twelve (12)
  85. months old then please contact us to ensure that you have the most current
  86. version.  This version was released in June, 1993.

  89. Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution:

  91. If you would like to distribute the SkyMap package as a Disk-of-
  92. the-Month, or as part of a subscription or monthly service, then the
  93. following restrictions apply:

  95.    ASP Associate (Disk Vendor) Members in good standing are hereby given
  96.    permission to distribute the SkyMap package under the Disk-of-
  97.    the-Month style of distribution.
  98.  
  99.    Others (non-ASP Members) must contact us in advance to ensure that you
  100.    have the most current version of the software.
  101.  
  102.    You cannot use a Disk-of-the-Month distribution to use up your inventory
  103.    of old (out of date) disks.  Only current versions may be shipped as
  104.    Disk-of-the-Month disks.
  105.  
  106. The PRINTED User's Guide may not be reproduced in whole or in part, using
  107. any means, without the written permission of Chris Marriott.  In other
  108. words, the disk-based documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED
  109. (hardcopy) form.
  110.  
  111. The SkyMap package cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.
  112.  
  113. You may not list any of our products in advertisements, catalogs, or other
  114. literature which describes our products as "FREE SOFTWARE".  Shareware is
  115. "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.
  116.  
  117. Chris Marriott prohibits the distribution of outdated versions of the
  118. SkyMap package, without written permission from Chris Marriott.
  119. If the version you have is over twelve (12) months old, please contact us
  120. to ensure that you have the most current version.  This version was
  121. released in June, 1993
  122.  
  123. Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  124. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program
  125. except as provided in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall
  126. result in immediate and automatic termination of this license.

  128. U.S. Government Information:  Use, duplication, or disclosure by the U.S.
  129. Government of the computer software and documentation in this package shall
  130. be subject to the restricted rights applicable to commercial computer
  131. software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical
  132. Data and Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).  The

  227. Vendor Update Program:
  228. ----------------------

  230. Most non-ASP vendors have standard procedures for acquiring new files.
  231. They get them from other vendors, BBSs, etc.  Most authors cannot afford to
  232. mail disks to hundreds (perhaps thousands) of vendors.  However, some
  233. vendors prefer to obtain programs directly from the authors.  If you would
  234. like to obtain programs directly from us, automatically, then please help
  235. us to cover the cost.
  236.  
  237. If you are NOT an ASP Approved Vendor (in good standing), but you would
  238. still like to receive automatic updates directly from us, then please take
  239. advantage of our Vendor Update Program.  Under this program you can receive
  240. updates for an entire year for only $10 per program (this helps to offset
  241. our costs).
  242.  
  243. To receive updates, simply send us a letter with your name, company name,
  244. mailing address, the name of the person we should contact (such as your
  245. disk librarian), the program (or programs) for which you would like to
  246. receive updates, and a check or money order for $10 for each program
  247. (Countries outside of North America please add an additional $10 per
  248. program).  Payment in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank only please.

  250. The Vendor Update Program is available for the following products (as of
  251. March, 1991):

  259. All vendors participating in our Vendor Update Program will automatically
  260. receive any NEW programs which we may release while their Vendor Update
  261. Program is in effect.

  263. NOTE: ASP Associate Members automatically receive free updates and do not
  264.       need to apply for the Vendor Update Program.  This is yet another
  265.       advantage to being an ASP Associate Member.

  267. The Vendor Update Program is only intended to help us cover our expenses in
  268. those cases where a vendor desires to obtain the program directly from us.
  269. If you have other standard ways to obtain programs, then you may prefer not
  270. to use our Vendor Update Program.
